The Creatives’ Annual Reunion & Retreat
A week of adventure – like canoeing down the Mississippi under a full moon or riding bicycles along the highway in Mexico – spiritual growth, giving ourselves permission to follow our hearts, walking the landscape, cityscape and taking a thousand photographs. Something magical occurs when we’re together and the magic follows each of us home every single year.

The Creatives first met in 2007 at the Santa Fe Workshops Retreat for Creative Women lead by Joyce Tenneson and Elise Wiarda. We spent a week at Hacienda Las Trancas, an hour northwest of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Shadowboxx was then in its design phase. Carol showed us blueprints and described the project in detail. None of us came close to imagining the elegance and purity of creative spirit embodied by those drawings.
This book is a collection of images captured during The Creatives Fifth Annual Retreat at Shadowboxx on Lopez Island, Washington, in October of 2012.
